The dogwood is a small deciduous tree that typically grows 15 feet tall with a low-branching, broadly-pyramidal habit. This tree produces white flowers in the early spring, and does well in acidic soils in part shade. A little mulch is needed around the trunk to keep moisture in. The dogwood doesn’t require a lot of pruning.
